Working with me

I’m Katie. I’m the therapist you’ll see, every session.

JoyWell is my solo practice. When you reach out, you’re talking with me — not a call center or a rotating team. I’m a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS), licensed as a Professional Counselor in Georgia and a Mental Health Counselor in Washington.

CEDS means I’ve completed advanced training and supervised clinical experience focused specifically on eating disorders.

How getting started works

  1. Join the waitlist

A short form: your name, your state, and who the support is for. No medical history needed.

  2. I email you when a spot opens

From me, not an automated list. I can’t tell you today how long that wait will be, so keep looking elsewhere in the meantime if you need to.

  3. Free 15-minute call

We talk through what’s going on and whether I’m the right fit. No cost, no commitment.

  4. Secure intake, then sessions

Secure paperwork and a cost estimate first. Then we meet by video while you’re in Georgia or Washington.

Fees, up front

A private-pay practice

You pay me directly for each session. JoyWell doesn’t bill insurance or submit claims on your behalf. You’ll know the cost before we start, and you’ll get a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges.

Common questions

Are you taking new clients?

Not at the moment. My caseload is full, so new requests go on a waitlist and I email people as spots open. There's no cost to join it and no obligation if you've found someone else by the time I reach you.

Is online therapy right for me?

Online sessions work well for many people, but not every situation. We'll talk about it on our free call, and if you need a different level of care, I'll help you think through next steps.

How much does a session cost?

Individual therapy is $175 for a 45-minute session. Family therapy is $190 for a 50-minute session. The first 15-minute phone consultation is free.

Do you accept insurance?

No. JoyWell is a private-pay practice. You pay me directly for each session, and JoyWell doesn't bill insurance or submit claims on your behalf. You'll receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected costs before we start.

Do you have an office in Atlanta?

No. All sessions are online by secure video, so you can meet from home anywhere in Georgia or Washington State.

Which states can you work in?

Georgia and Washington State. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington, so you need to be located in one of those two states during each session.

The waitlist is open.

Send the short form and I’ll email you myself when a spot opens. If you need help sooner than I can offer it, I’d rather tell you that than leave you waiting on me.
